Job summary

Merchants Capital is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of multifamily loans, ensuring compliance with terms and regulations while maintaining high-quality client service. This role focuses on credit monitoring, risk assessment, and guiding loans toward permanent financing or exit strategies.

You will collaborate with the Loan Origination and Capital Markets teams, perform quarterly risk assessments, and support modifications, extensions, and hedging activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of industry experience preferred with emphasis on asset or portfolio management.
• Organized, detail-oriented with strong customer experience skills.
• Problem-solving with ability to work under deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic thinking with data interpretation for risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage borrower relationships on a portfolio of multifamily loans.
• Ensure compliance with loan documents and covenants.
• Review quarterly financial analyses and loan draws.
• Monitor hedging, escrow and reserves; approve disbursements.
• Perform credit analysis for extensions/modifications and assess risks.
• Conduct risk ratings and site visits; collaborate with origination and capital markets.
• Support refinancing strategy and client communications.
