Job summary

Preferred Care is seeking a Porter to join the Housekeeping Department in our care facility. The role involves cleaning resident rooms and common areas, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality service.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of healthcare or commercial housekeeping experience and can operate clean laundry equipment. Schedules may vary, and a strong work ethic is essential to support patient care.

Qualifications

• May need to work a varied schedule as requested.
• Healthcare or Commercial Laundry: 1 year (Preferred).
• Healthcare or Commercial Housekeeping: 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Clean common areas of the facility and resident rooms.
• Maintain high level of cleanliness and safety.
• Ensure equipment is clean and functional.
• Remove trash and soiled linens; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Learn to operate commercial laundry equipment.
• Work as part of a Housekeeping team.

Porter Duties and Responsibilities:

The Housekeeping is responsible for the following:

• Cleaning common areas of the facility and Resident rooms
• Maintains a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas
• Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times
• Removal of trash & soiled linens. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds
• Housekeeper must be able to learn how to operate commercial laundry equipment
• Must be able to work as a team member with other Housekeepers assigned to the facility
• Solid work ethic with initiative for quality and customer service
• Remain positive and caring, and act in the best interest of our patients
• Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor

Housekeeping Qualifications and Experience:

All Housekeepers must be experienced at cleaning with a keen eye for details

Must be Reliable and Keep to a Schedule

May Need to Work a Varied Schedule, as requested
