Job summary

MRK Property Management LLC is seeking a Porter to maintain cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of multiple communities in Newark, DE. You will ensure safe, well-kept grounds and interior spaces, including vacated apartment preparation for move-ins, under a responsive maintenance team.

Responsibilities include daily grounds cleaning, office janitorial tasks, and supporting maintenance staff with preventive work orders. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of general maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations is preferred.
• Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrols property daily to identify areas needing cleaning and completes required work.
• Restores vacated apartments to move-in condition for new residents—clean appliances, cabinets, sinks, floors, bathroom, windows, doors, and paint as needed.
• Performs grounds maintenance: weed removal, grass-cutting, snow and leaf removal from sidewalks, walkways, steps, and driveways/parking spaces.
• Cleans property office as necessary—empty trash, vacuum carpets, clean bathroom and kitchen; comply with janitorial schedule.
• Assists maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance, capital improvements, or work orders as needed.
