Job summary

Columbia University Facilities & Operations is seeking a Regular full-time cleaner to perform maintenance in dining and kitchen areas. The role focuses on keeping kitchens, dining rooms, and basements clean and orderly in line with safety standards.

The incumbent will operate dishwashing and rug cleaning equipment, assist colleagues, and ensure a safe work environment while supporting daily operations in Ferris Booth Commons.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager on Duty the Incumbent will clean and maintain areas such as, but not limited to, kitchens, dining rooms, and basements.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes, pots and pans.
• Shampoos rugs.
• Cleans and washes floors and walls.
• Uses equipment such as, but not limited to, dish washing machines, rug shampoo machines, and pot washing machines.
• Assists other employees in the performance of their jobs, as directed by responsible supervisors, using the necessary equipment in the performance of these jobs.
• Observes safety standards and practices.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned with job classification.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or the equivalent is required.
