Job summary

Sands Hotel & Spa in Indio, CA is seeking a guest-facing team member to maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor while delivering personalized service to guests at all times. You will manage the flow of orders to the kitchen, communicate with food runners and kitchen staff, and upsell menu items to maximize sales.

You will also ensure accurate payments using POS, maintain the pool, bar, and restaurant areas, and assist with side work and end-of-shift closeout tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service to guests.
• Ensure guests are enjoying their meals and communicate with guests to ensure comfort.
• Control the flow of orders to the kitchen and bar, maintain communication with food runners/expo and kitchen.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu and answer questions with accuracy, offering proactive recommendations.
• Upsell menu items and ensure sales quotas are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool, kitchen, bar, and restaurant; reset tables and manage side stations.
• Comply with food safety, security, and hotel policies as set by authorities and the hotel.
• Accurately tally and collect guest payments using POS and handle cash as applicable.
• Adhere to tipping guidelines and report adjustments as required.
• Perform side work and end-of-shift closeout tasks.
• Stay informed about hotel/restaurant information and assist other teams as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
