Job summary

Common Thread Hotels is seeking a hospitality team member to deliver attentive, friendly service across poolside and dining venues. You will greet guests, take orders, answer questions about the menu, and ensure meals are served promptly.

The role emphasizes upselling, accurate cash handling, adherence to food safety, and close collaboration with kitchen, bar, and other departments to maintain a high guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service to guests.
• Ensure guests are enjoying their meals and communicate with guests to ensure comfort and enjoyment, correcting issues as needed.
• Control the flow of orders to the kitchen and bar; maintain full communication with food runner/expo and kitchen.
• Maintain full knowledge of the menu; answer questions accurately and make proactive recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Plate and time food items according to guest preference and kitchen needs.
• Upsell food and drink items to promote higher-priced options and meet sales quotas.
• Keep pool, kitchen, bar and restaurant clean; buss and reset tables and maintain orderly stations.
• Comply with food safety, security and hotel/restaurant policies.
• Tally and collect guest payments accurately; use POS to close payments correctly.
• Follow tipping guidelines and communicate adjustments to supervisor when needed.
• Perform side work and end-of-shift closeout tasks (polish ware, set stations, clean areas).
• Maintain knowledge of hotel/restaurant/chef operations and hours; assist other team members as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
