The City of Independence Parks & Recreation Department is committed to excellence in programming, facilities, and service while improving the quality of life within our community and is looking for pool maintenance workers to perform routine maintenance and cleaning of all Recreation Department Aquatic facilities including pools, pool deck, buildings, locker rooms, and all bathrooms.

Days, Hours & Additional Employment Details:

A pool maintenance worker is a seasonal position from May 2025 through September 2025. Pool maintenance workers are generally scheduled to work Sunday - Saturday between the hours of 7 AM and 10 PM up to 40 hours a week.

There will be weeks periodically throughout the year where working evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Regular testing and maintaining pool water chemistry to health code standards
• Daily cleaning duties - including vacuuming, skimming, and brushing pools; cleaning/scrubbing pool deck, cleaning in and around pool buildings including locker rooms; emptying trash; moving/restocking supplies
• Interact/respond to supervisor or resident/guest requests as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this seasonal job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; bend; squat; and be able to lift up to 50 lbs when necessary. Employee must be capable of working in both an indoor and outdoor environment under standard Ohio weather conditions.
