Job summary

Koʻa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach in Hawaii is seeking a part-time Pool Bar Runner to support servers and bartenders, ensuring guests have everything they need and that orders flow smoothly. The role emphasizes teamwork, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

• Assist servers, bartenders and managers with carrying plates and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus including carryout menus.
• Assure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food.
• Ensure guests have proper silverware, napkins, and share plates when delivering food.
• Assist with bussing, pouring water, and supporting front-of-house activities to deliver the best guest experience.
• Read order tickets, track cooking times, and ensure plate presentation meets house specifications.

Education

We are focused on long-term value creation and sustainable growth.****Our Guiding Principles:****Integrity, Compliance, Value Creation, Principled Entrepreneurship, Customer Focus, Knowledge, Change, Humility, Respect, & Fulfillment**The hourly rate for this opportunity is $16.00 an hour.**WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH*** Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus including carryout menus* Assure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food.* Ensures guest has proper silverware, napkin, share plates when delivering food.* Keep kitchen station clean and organized.* Assist with putting deliveries away in designated areas.* Utensils & steak knives polished and stocked.* Assist all servers, bartenders and managers with carrying of plates.* Communicate effectively and courteously with guests, and co-workers.* Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)* Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions.* Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co-workers.* Assist in FOH with bussing, pouring water and anything that can deliver the best results for our guests* Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our guests dining experience.* Sets up the front line with the equipment, plateware, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products.* Keeps station restocked throughout the shift.* Cleans large and small trays and tray stands to be ready for service.* Reads order tickets as they arrive and place onto ticket minder.* Tracks cooking times on all orders, checks finished product for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation.* Garnishes finished entrees according to house specifications and procedures.* Assists the server as needed to optimize the guest’s dining experience.* Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.* Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty.* Correctly completes closing duties at the end of each shift.* Assists Chef and other kitchen personnel in accomplishing closing duties and kitchen cleanliness.* Completes all side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the members of the management team.**WHAT YOU WILL BRING*** Perform more than one task at a time.* Follow supervisor’s instructions.* Report to work in a complete required uniform.* Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of the restaurant.* Meet personal schedule requirements punctually.* Be courteous, friendly and pleasant. · Stand and walk for an entire shift.* Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties.* Safely transport items to and from kitchen on a slick uneven surface.* Lift and carry multiple plates from kitchen to dining room.* Safely move about in all areas of the restaurant.* Frequently bend, stoop, reach, lift, carry, and wipe.**GREAT IF YOU HAVE*** Food Handler’s Certification* Must have knowledge of all hotel departments and events.* Must have good mathematical and computer skills.* High school education and relevant training and experience required. Additional education preferred.
