Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Service and Development Scientist in Marietta, GA, to lead polyurethane formulation work for rigid foams. You will interact with customers, translate needs into technical solutions, and collaborate across R&D, commercial, and manufacturing teams to deliver new products.

The role emphasizes experimental design, troubleshooting, and scale-up from lab to production, with travel and cross-functional communication as core requirements for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or an applied science related field (Ex. Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent military experience at/above US E5 or Canadian ranks.
• Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience leading projects and formulating/commercializing rigid foam polyurethane products.
• Ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Designs value-creating solutions for customer problems with defined scope and impact.
• Develops hypotheses, plans and runs experiments; interprets results and refines hypotheses.
• Provides technical support for product trials and scale-up from lab to production.
• Collaborates across research, commercial, supply chain and manufacturing teams.
• Protects Dow’s intellectual capital when working with customers.
• Engages with external professional organizations to stay current and represent Dow Polyurethanes.
