Job summary

Allina Health in Minnesota seeks a Sleep Technologist to deliver evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under physician supervision. You will conduct polysomnographic testing, scoring, and titration of PAP therapy, while educating patients to improve sleep and health.

The role is 0.9 FTE with 12-hour permanent night shifts and every weekend; BRPT certification and BLS are preferred/required. Competitive benefits provided.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct polysomnographic testing, scoring and follow up.

  • Titrate therapy per lab protocol and educate patients.
  • Score polysomnograms, download data and generate reports.
  • Educate patients on sleep disorders, testing and devices.
  • Complete paperwork and billing procedures as required.

Job Summary:

Bring your expertise in sleep medicine to our team by delivering comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. In this role, you will play a vital part in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and educating patients with suspected sleep conditions under the guidance of a physician—helping patients achieve better sleep and improved overall health.

  • 12-hour permanent night shifts

Job Description:

Conducts the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in patients. Responsible for assessments, diagnosis, treatments and education of patients with suspected sleep disorders under the direction of a physician.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Polysomnographic testing, scoring and follow up
  • Applies electrodes, monitors accordingly, ensures artifact free recordings and documents values for any clinical event during testing.
  • Implements and titrates appropriate therapy per lab protocol.
  • Scores Polysomnograms, downloads/stores data and generates reports prior to follow up appointment.
  • Patient education and record management Educate patient on sleep disorders, testing procedures and operation of sleep disorder devices.
  • Verify medical order/protocol, complete all technical paperwork.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and billing procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational or Technical Training in a polysomnography program with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or, equivalent experience with documented proficiency in all required competencies of a Polysomnographic Technologist or, meets Board Registered Polysomnographic (BRPT) standards for a sleep technologist
  • 0 to 2 years polysomnography experience
  • 0 to 2 years strong knowledge of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) devices
  • 0 to 2 years able to assess patients, apply critical thinking and determine appropriate interventions
Licenses/Certifications

Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
  • Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BPRT) or credentialed with Sleep Disorders Specialty from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) upon hire required
  • Current license in allied health profession if applicable preferred
Physical Demands
  • Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently
Pay Range

Pay Range: $32.92 to $45.12 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
