Job summary

Synthomer in Ohio seeks a Pilot Plant Technician to support the development of new polymer products. You will prepare and run polymerization reactions, clean reactors, weigh materials, charge batches, monitor reactions and test products in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The role includes supporting a commercial process, with 2nd or 3rd shift options, and overtime as needed. Training for powered industrial trucks is required, with benefits including shift differentials and bonuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass powered industrial truck certification (within first 60 days).
• Ability to function in a team and also work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to handle up to 50 lbs. and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices and support safety goals.
• Operate process equipment per SOPs.
• Learn and contribute across manufacturing processes.
• Communicate with the innovation team at all levels.
• Collect and communicate experimental data.
• Identify improvement opportunities.
• Perform in-process and final product testing.
• Support ISO-9001 and RCMS compliance.
• Be an active member of the emergency response team.
• Prepare and clean equipment and vessels (2–1,000 gallons).
• Assist with shipping/receiving as needed.
• Help develop new processes and SOPs.
