Job summary

Welocalize is seeking a Tech Linguistic Tester 1 in Portland, Oregon to proofread and edit localized content for linguistic accuracy. You will catch grammar, typos, punctuation, and consistency issues, and may translate from English to your native language while checking UIs for functional issues.

Responsibilities include reporting bugs, prioritizing tasks, and evaluating translations across software, apps, and documentation.

Qualifications

Native language skills and cultural awareness of native country.
Good oral and written communication.
3+ years professional translation & localization experience.
Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with MS applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to navigate networks and websites with different browsers.
Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems.
Knowledge of common technological terms in English and target language.
Flexibility with varying hours.

Responsibilities

Write and report bugs using internal tracking system.
Prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
QA various products by following testing instructions and test cases.
Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
Be a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in the target language.
Adhere to project-specific quality standards and glossaries.
Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate testing issues.
Complete assigned tasks in a timely, high-quality manner.
