Job summary

The Department of Public Works (DPW), Solid Waste Management Administration (SWMA), Solid Waste Disposal Division (SWDD) is seeking a policy and program analyst to support the two Transfer Stations. The role involves broad analyses, reviews, and providing technical advice to advance regulatory compliance and program objectives.

The incumbent assists in preparing legislative and regulatory recommendations, works with the Office of the General Counsel to ensure codes address residential disposal

Responsibilities

  • Provides a broad range of policy and program analyses, reviews, and technical advice to the two Transfer Stations operated by the Department.
  • Assists in preparing legislative and regulatory recommendations based on program mandates and works with the Office of the General Counsel to ensure regulatory codes are adhered to regarding residential disposal and commercial hauling requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with transloading agreements and authors code revisions to address issues or improvements to the transfer stations for enactment into District of Columbia law.
