We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

About the team and the role:

At eBay, maintaining buyer and seller trust in our marketplace, while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, is a top priority. Our team leverages advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance policy enforcement by identifying and removing unsafe items and other regulated products. The Policy Manager will be a key part of this team, responsible for administering policies, developing strategies, and overseeing the program's execution towards shared goals. As a Policy Manager, you will work globally, partnering closely with Legal, Product Management, Engineering, and business partners to drive positive impacts on business metrics and operations. You will evaluate in-house and third-party solutions, develop control plans, and engage directly with eBay buyers and sellers through research initiatives and one-on-one interactions.

What you will accomplish:

  • Navigate complex catalog conditions, including new releases, recalls, safety notices, and regional variations, to maintain compliance within a dynamic regulatory environment.
  • Lead enforcement activities, ensuring program effectiveness through assurance testing and performance metric monitoring.
  • Design customer experiences and communications that help sellers achieve compliance, reinforcing eBay's partnership role with sellers.
  • Use data analytics to identify compliance trends and patterns, translating insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of seller behavior and risk exposure to develop strategic enforcement measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define metrics and support automation of enforcement actions, driving policy and business decisions.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience of five years or more in policy, program management, or strategy development, ideally within ecommerce.
  • Strong understanding of the ecommerce landscape and functional knowledge of the eBay marketplace.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to varied groups.
  • Capacity to understand and evaluate customer needs and motivations to inform business strategies, considering end-to-end customer experience.
  • Ability and willingness to challenge existing approaches, driving positive culture changes within the team.
  • Availability to work in specified locations with potential travel, ensuring engagement with global partners and stakeholders.
