Job summary

South Coast AQMD is seeking a Staff Specialist in the Office of Compliance & Enforcement in Diamond Bar, CA. The role provides administrative and technical support for divisional programs, including staff training, policy updates, budget and contract administration, rulemaking, and information systems management.

Successful candidates will have a relevant degree, two years of technical air quality or analytical experience, and strong skills in training, writing, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering or the physical sciences OR accounting, business or public administration, political science, regional planning, urban development or other directly transferable field.
• Two years of technical air quality or professional analytical experience which would demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities defined in the job announcement for the position.
• Knowledge of administrative analysis, budget preparation and control; training theory; contract administration; and related regulations.
• License: California Class "C" Driver's License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Researches, develops, and coordinates program plans and strategies for budget, grant, and contract development and administration; staff training; policy development; information systems; and special projects.
• Plans and coordinates technical workshops and meetings on regulations; participates in rule development and implements programs for regulations.
• Develops and applies quality control and quality assurance programs.
• Reviews, analyzes, and administers grants, contracts, and agreements; monitors expenditures and advises on issues.
• Develops divisional databases and prepares data and analytical reports; may act as divisional web deputy.
