Job summary

Flock Safety is seeking a senior communications leader to shape and manage the narrative around DC congressional issues and policy. You will build and leverage relationships with Beltway reporters, advise C-suite executives, and guide cross-functional teams to respond to inquiries and crises.

The role requires strong media experience, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate high-stakes, high-visibility communications. Remote options exist where applicable.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of communications, media relations, or PR leadership experience with a heavy focus on DC, congressional issues + hearings, and policy communications.
• Strong executive presence with experience media training and advising C-suite leaders.
• Strong existing relationships with DC and Beltway press; scrappy and able to build relationships quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with Beltway reporters and manage regular outreach to reporters at POLITICO, Semafor, Axios, Puck, and Punchbowl.
• Prepare for congressional scrutiny with government affairs and legal to identify likely lines of questioning and prepare answers.
• Connect policy developments to communications and guide leadership, reporter outreach, and executive prep.
• Handle daily execution: draft responses, brief reporters, prepare executives, follow up, and manage stories.
• Collaborate with Government Affairs and Legal to align messaging on LPR and drone technology for safer communities.
• Report into the VP of Communications and potentially flex into crisis, corporate, and product communications.
