Job summary

State of Maryland is seeking a Police Pursuit Vehicle Specialist to repair and maintain MSP pursuit vehicles across departments. The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable operation for high-speed responses in all weather and road conditions and protecting troopers and the public.

Based in Easton, MD, you will perform engine work, brakes, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance, document repairs, and support supervision when needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of the eighth grade.
• Experience: Three years of experience servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles or equipment, one year of which must involve major automotive repair work.
• Notes: Graduation from an accredited vocational/technical program may substitute for up to three years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Replace or repair MSP vehicles and schedule preventive maintenance; replace engines and rear differentials as needed.
• Diagnose and repair water pumps, power steering, steering gear boxes and racks.
• Repair brake systems including pads, calipers, rotors and master cylinders.
