Job summary

The role requires 3 years of automotive repair experience with major repair exposure and a strong focus on safety and reliability of law-enforcement vehicles.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited vocational/technical high school with an automotive focus.
• Three years of experience servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles, including one year performing major automotive repair.
• Substitutions include vocational/technical degree or US Armed Forces mechanic experience for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Replace or repair MSP vehicles and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair brake, steering, and electrical systems, including sensors and computers.
• Operate computer scan tools, document repairs, and prepare repair orders with parts receipts.
• Road test vehicles to verify safe operation and performance.
• Perform minor welding, torch work, and drill press; other duties as assigned.
