The Town of Los Gatos is seeking Police Officers (Pre-Service) to join the LGMS Police Department in a role that offers growth from within and exposure to diverse assignments. The position pays $66.19–$80.46 per hour plus excellent benefits, with placement based on experience.

Pre-Service Officers must meet POST Basic Academy requirements or be enrolled in a California Basic Academy within four weeks of completion, and meet both physical and educational prerequisites to advance in a dynamic law

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment.
• Citizen of the United States or permanent resident eligible for citizenship.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License at time of appointment.
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• POST Academy Certificate and WSTB Score dated within one year, Pellet-B Score.

Responsabilités

• Under general supervision, perform peace officer duties including protecting life and property, enforcing laws, criminal investigation, traffic control, crime prevention and suppression.
• Identify problems or issues and seek resolution through department resources and community partnerships.
• Conduct preliminary or follow-up investigations of burglaries, thefts, robberies, deaths, accidents and other disturbances.
• Collect and present evidence and testify at hearings and in court in connection with prosecutions.
• Answer calls for protection of life and property in the enforcement of laws; transport prisoners as needed.
