Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a physical agility test.
• Must meet P.O.S.T. medical standards for a peace officer.
• Must pass P.O.S.T. background checks including polygraph, DOJ, FBI, and firearms clearance.
• Basic academy enrollment allowed; must graduate before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Attend and graduate from a California P.O.S.T. basic academy.
• After graduation, patrol an assigned beat and enforce laws; respond to calls.
• Investigate, report, and take enforcement actions; engage with community.
