Position Summary
The Police Officer serves as a sworn law enforcement professional within the Health & Hospital Police Department and is responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining a safe and secure environment across healthcare and hospital facilities. Operating under the supervision of a Sergeant of Police, the Police Officer performs patrol, response, enforcement, and investigative duties in support of patient safety, employee protection, and continuity of healthcare operations.
The Police Officer exercises full police authority within assigned jurisdiction and performs duties in a manner consistent with applicable Indiana law, departmental policy, healthcare regulations, and professional law enforcement standards.
The Police Officer is vested with full law enforcement authority within assigned jurisdiction and is accountable for lawful conduct, ethical performance, and adherence to departmental policy. The Police Officer operates within the established chain of command and follows lawful orders issued by supervisory and command staff.
