IU Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer to patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and enforce policies to maintain a safe healthcare environment. This role requires a high school diploma and Indiana LEA training within one year, plus NCIC/IDACS access and a clean record.

Rotating Shifts (Primarily Nights) (6pm - 6am OR 6am or 6pm)

Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, policies and state statutes. Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations. Proactively works to prevent crime and safety incidents. Responds to and investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.
