This position is responsible for protecting the hospital's assets and human resources, focusing on loss prevention, life safety, and quality patient care. The Police Department aims to keep you safe.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pennsylvania ACT 235 Lethal Weapons Certification.
• Pennsylvania ACT 501 Private Police Officer Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting, PA State Background Check. Must not have a criminal record with an offense higher than a summary offense.

Experience:

• 2 years law enforcement experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACT 120 Municipal Police Certification.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The following describes the general nature of work performed by personnel in this position. This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned.

1. Maintain campus safety, control access, handle disruptive visitors, respond to codes, alerts, and drills, employ preventive patrol, and monitor CCTV.
2. Communicate effectively using provided systems, complete reports timely and accurately, coordinate with law enforcement agencies, and enforce parking regulations.
3. Enforce laws to ensure safety, collaborate with other departments on safety issues, and respond swiftly to emergencies.
4. Maintain professional standards through regular training, pass lethal weapons training, attend Defensive Tactics Training, and maintain control of cash transactions.
5. Engage in personal development, assist in training new officers, maintain department equipment, and report equipment issues.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Working Environment

• Frequent public interaction.
• Work may occur on irregular hours, shifts, and weekends.
