Job summary

The City of Livonia, MI is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator for the Police Department. You will develop and manage a preventative maintenance program for police vehicles, ensure compliance with government regulations and union contracts, and oversee the fleet budget and fuel program.

Strong coordination with vendors and radio systems is required. You will also handle building maintenance duties, emergency generator oversight, and serve as logistics/supply coordinator during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in automotive field or 5+ years as police fleet coordinator or similar role.
• Experience managing a fleet of 100+ vehicles.
• Experience with radio communications equipment and related installations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program for police vehicles.
• Ensure vehicles comply with regulations, contracts, and licensing.
• Review vehicle status daily/weekly/monthly and schedule repairs.
• Maintain parts inventories and vendor relationships.
• Oversee fleet budget and fuel program; manage communications radios.
