Qualifications

• Citizen of the United States.
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Have an associate degree in Law Enforcement or Police Administration or a bachelor’s degree; or four years of paid full-time qualified work experience.
• Be certified as a Michigan Police Officer or eligible to be certified by MCOLES.
• Meet medical, vision and hearing standards and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned city areas in a radio-dispatched vehicle.
• Respond to emergency calls and incidents; enforce laws and ordinances.
• Make arrests, secure crime scenes, and conduct investigations in cooperation with other agencies.
• Provide information and assistance to the public and maintain community relations.
• Prepare reports and maintain logs and records.
