Job summary

Livingston County is seeking a Fleet Manager for LETS, overseeing the County fleet, diagnosing issues, coordinating repairs, and tracking maintenance with vendors. You will maintain fleet software records, prepare reports, and support budgeting and scheduling across departments.

The role requires strong knowledge of fleet management, vehicle systems, and MS Office, with hands-on repair and inspection duties. County benefits and competitive pay apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus relevant mechanical/maintenance coursework.
• Michigan Master Auto Mechanic certification required.
• CDL-Class C with passenger endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Manage County fleet, coordinate repairs with departments and vendors.
• Inspect vehicles and track condition, schedule maintenance.
• Oversee vendor work and on-site inspections.
• Perform or supervise repairs and tune-ups as needed.
• Prepare inspection records and data entries into fleet software.
• Prepare reports and manage fleet records; bid coordination.
• Maintain daily/weekly workload calendars and scheduling.
• Assist in evaluating new vehicles and alternative fuels.
