Job summary

Katy ISD Police is seeking a Telecommunicator to operate a multi-channel radio console and a multi-line phone system, coordinating critical information for police responders. This role works in a 24/7 Communications Center and requires maintaining dispatch accuracy and radio discipline under pressure.

The ideal candidate has a TS/LE role readiness with TCOLE license or the ability to obtain it within the first year, and prior experience with alarm, radio, and CAD systems, plus strong

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Telecommunicator license from the TCOLE or able to obtain within the first year.
• Complete a TLETS/NLETS and TCIC/NCIC Basic Procedures Course within six months.
• Proficient with multi-channel radio and multi-line telephone systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate radios, telephones, and computer-aided dispatch systems.
• Receive and dispatch calls accurately to units and locations.
• Maintain logs and records of communications and incidents.
• Monitor alarms and maintain radio discipline per directives.
• Assist public at the reception window during shifts.
