Job summary

United Utility Services is seeking a Utility Pole Inspector / Assessment Technician for field-based work across multiple states, including Denver. You will perform visual and physical assessments of wood utility poles, with duties ranging from sounding to preservative application, while documenting findings and coordinating with the crew.

The role requires attention to safety, adherence to client specs, and valid credentials.

Qualifications

  • One year of direct wood utility pole assessment/treatment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of sounding, boring, excavation, decay assessment, and pole treatment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass training/certifications.
  • State pesticide/preservative handling training and any required licenses.
  • Ability to document findings with GPS/photo notes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pole inspection per procedures and client specs.
  • Conduct sounding, boring, excavation, decay evaluation, measurements.
  • Determine pole condition and follow-up actions.
  • Apply preservative treatments and restoration work.
  • Record measurements and GPS coordinates in mobile system.
  • Follow client procedures and escalate issues as needed.
  • Comply with 811/One Call, safety, PPE, and environmental rules.
  • Support Crew Foreman and coordinate daily execution.
