Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Signal Hill, CA is seeking a dynamic pole foreman to organize field operations from start to finish, ensuring safe, efficient maintenance of utility poles and equipment.

You will mentor 3–5 person crews, manage PPE usage, document incidents, and uphold OSHA and Davey safety standards while driving continuous improvement. This is an on-site, permanent role with travel and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete Electrical Hazard Awareness Program and OSHA Training.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: pole test and treat experience or related work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

What You’ll Do

• Organize work operations from start to completion in the safest and most efficient manner, to perform proper maintenance of utility poles
• Oversee 3-5-person pole crews while mentoring and training new employees
• Use personal protective equipment and maintain high levels of safety standards
• Investigate accidents and promptly record and report findings to management
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Every day there is something new to do!
