Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Cypress, TX seeks a utility foreperson/foreman to lead a 2-5 person crew outdoors. You’ll prune and remove trees for major electric utilities, operate chainsaws, chippers, and lifts, mentor teammates, and grow with a company that values safety and service.

The role offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus, dedicated training, and union-backed benefits including health insurance and pension. Travel up to 100% may be required based on projects.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Must know how to manually climb and have climbing experience
• Valid driver's license
• CDL preferred (Class A or B) if required by state
• Pesticide licenses/certificates preferred if state law requires

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal services for utilities.
• Pruning treetops and removing damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with planning and execution of tasks.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Job Duties

WhatYou’llDo:

• Lead a2-5 persontree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properlymaintain,prepareandoperateall tools and equipmentincluding,chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Mentor and train new employees
