Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Point of Care Testing Leader to oversee POCT processes and promote optimal patient outcomes. The role develops and revises standards and policies for POCT, and serves as a resource for Nursing Staff and other providers in POCT.

The position requires MT certification (or eligibility within 18 months), bench work and leadership experience, and strong communication skills. Duties include education, policy development, and monitoring CLIA-related certifications and practices.

Qualifications

• Current MT certification or must have certification within 18 months of hire.
• Experience in bench work and leadership/teaching is required.
• Ability to develop policies and procedures and provide learning opportunities.
• Ability to analyze regulations and clinical issues related to patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Supports/oversees POCT processes to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Develops, evaluates, and revises POCT standards and procedures.
• Serves as a resource for Nursing Staff and other healthcare providers in POCT.
• Provides education and consultation in POCT and reviews literature for POCT trends.
