Job summary

Laredo Medical Center is seeking a POCT Coordinator to oversee point-of-care testing across the facility. You will ensure regulatory compliance, quality control, training, and competency assessments for non-laboratory staff performing POCT.

You will collaborate with departments to maintain accurate, timely testing, update policies, and support audits. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a lab science and 1–3 years of POCT coordination experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology required.
• 1-3 years of experience performing or coordinating POCT required.
• 1-2 years of experience with laboratory quality control programs required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees POCT implementation and maintenance per hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develops and maintains QC/QA programs for POCT, including calibration and corrective actions.
• Operates and maintains POCT analyzers with proper documentation.
• Trains and assesses competency of non-laboratory personnel performing POCT.
