Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Point of Care Laboratory Team Lead to join our team at Ascension Columbia St Mary’s Ozaukee campus in Mequon, Wisconsin. You will oversee POC testing across hospital campuses, train nursing and clinical staff, and drive policy adherence and testing platform improvements.

With expertise in CLIA/CAP, you will lead instrumentation management, quality control, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with laboratory and clinical leadership to optimize workflows and patient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and ASCP certification.
• Minimum 2 years as Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician.
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP and state regulations.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee non-waived and waived point-of-care testing across the hospital campus and affiliated sites.
• Provide training and ongoing support to nursing and clinical staff.
• Develop, coordinate, and document training and competency assessments.
• Collaborate with laboratory, nursing, and clinical leadership to implement new testing platforms and workflows.
• Serve as SME for POC testing policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Manage POC instrumentation, including validation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and serve as a key resource.
• Identify and replenish testing supplies and inventory to support uninterrupted operations.
• Conduct regular rounding on patient care units to support nursing staff and ensure quality standards.
• Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
• Review quality metrics, compliance reports, and testing records for trends and improvements.
• Investigate testing discrepancies and non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in regulatory inspections, audits, and accreditation surveys.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE use.
• Perform site visits to AMG clinics across the Milwaukee area when needed.
