Ridgeview Medical Center in Minnesota seeks a Point-of-Care (POC) Lead to oversee bedside laboratory testing across hospital and off-site departments.
You will standardize processes to ensure strict QA, coordinate staff training, and maintain instrument reliability to deliver rapid, accurate results that support clinical decisions and patient safety.
This position is responsible for serving both internal and external customers by performing a variety of laboratory procedures in accordance with Ridgeview Medical Center philosophy, policies and procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agencies. Focus areas include: POC, Automated Chemistry, Immuno-Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Blood Banking, and Microbiology.
Performs testing analysis of a wide variety of patient specimens according to procedures defined in each area of the lab including quality control, all testing needed for regulatory needs and competency assessment.
Performs basic troubleshooting techniques and clearly reports issues to the Lead MLS or other appropriate personnel.
Assists in maintaining adequate inventories.
Assists with the training and orientation of new staff and visiting students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
