Job summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to partner with the CFO, advancing the accounting function in a high-growth PE-backed construction services business. This remote role supports Eastern or Central Time Zones and emphasizes PoC accounting expertise and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities include overseeing accounting and tax systems, ensuring compliant financial reporting, and leading the close process with external auditors.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or a middle-market company.
• Deep experience with Percent of Completion (PoC) accounting in trade, construction, or similar industry.
• CPA required.
• Private equity portfolio company experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a similar degree.
• Experienced with acquisition integrations and purchase accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer company accounting and tax systems.
• Ensure that all financial reporting, policies, and procedures comply with company policy, applicable accounting and tax rules, and laws and regulations.
• Lead the month-end close process and file monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports promptly.
• Maintain general ledger and subledgers across multiple entities; ensure timely close (≤5 days).
• Lead with external auditors and support acquisition integrations and due diligence.
