Job summary

Capitol Boiler Works, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple commercial and industrial construction projects in the DC metro region from Springfield, VA.

You will supervise assistant PMs and field superintendents, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with architects, vendors and owners to ensure quality and profitability. Responsibilities include preparing change orders, reviewing cost reports, and ensuring safety and compliance with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
• PMP Certification is preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and procedures.
• 5 years of mechanical contracting experience and 3–5 years of project management experience.
• Well organized with planning and scheduling skills.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and lead Assistant Project Managers and Field Superintendents.
• Negotiate and purchase materials, services and subcontracts for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Field Superintendents to meet schedules and budgets.
• Approve submittals for shop drawings and samples.
• Conduct project kickoffs and meetings; prepare written minutes.
• Collaborate with architects, vendors, estimators and on-site supervisors for timely completion.
• Manage project budgets; revise cost reports and change orders.
• Schedule subcontractors and material delivery; monitor progress.
• Lead project reviews with the team; ensure adherence to plans and specs.
• Coordinate sustainability documentation with the Project LEED AP.
