Job summary

Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a Director for the MNIT DOT Project Management Office (PMO) to provide strategic IT program leadership for MnDOT. The role oversees an enterprise PMO portfolio, guiding governance, investment oversight, and delivery excellence across multiple programs.

The PMO Director leads teams, manages budgets, and drives modernization initiatives to maximize business value while ensuring security and alignment with MNIT strategies. Onsite/telework balance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing strategic leadership for an IT PMO or enterprise IT governance.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar IT budgets and funding.
• Experience developing IT staffing plans, resource allocation, and team performance.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Strong communication to influence leadership and guide teams through change.
• Customer-focused approach and user-centered problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee MnDOT’s IT program and project portfolio with enterprise responsibility.
• Manage more than $15M annual IT portfolio with governance and delivery standards.
• Provide portfolio strategy, investment advisory, and PMO improvements.
• Coordinate reporting, project management, quality assurance, and vendor management.
