Job summary

The Panther Group in Boston is seeking an experienced Data & Reporting Analyst to support an IT PMO. You will own PMO data governance, data quality, reporting, dashboard development, and system integration across multiple programs and projects.

The role is hybrid (3 days in office) in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of data management, strong Power BI, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, and Jira experience, and the ability to translate data into executive insights for leadership.

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive experience in data management, reporting, analytics, and/or data governance.
Experience supporting a PMO, IT organization, or complex matrixed environment.
Strong experience with ServiceNow, including PPM, Power BI, Smartsheet, and Jira.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Query, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
Experience building connectors, integrations, or APIs between enterprise systems.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

Establish PMO data standards, definitions, taxonomies, and quality rules.
Monitor project and portfolio data for errors, duplicate records, missing information, anomalies, and inconsistent classifications.
Perform root-cause analysis and work with Project Managers to correct and remediate data issues.
Validate data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reporting readiness.
Build and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, ServiceNow, and Smartsheet.
Develop consolidated reporting across systems including ServiceNow, Power BI, Smartsheet, and Jira.
Build or maintain connectors, integrations, and APIs to automate data flow and reporting.
Automate recurring reporting processes and continuously improve reporting templates, visualizations, and data models.
Analyze complex portfolio and project data to identify trends, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
Translate findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for PMO and ITS leadership.
Prepare executive-level scorecards, dashboards, presentations, and briefing materials.
Review reports and dashboards for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and presentation quality before distribution.
Serve as a key resource for Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, PMO leadership, and technical teams on data and reporting matters.
Gather reporting requirements and clarify data definitions and standards.
Train and support team members on data-entry practices and data-quality expectations.
Influence data cleanup and process improvements across teams without direct authority.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and governance.
Evaluate automation, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled tools that can improve analytics and reporting.
Stay current on data governance, PMO analytics, and reporting best practices.
