Job summary

Battelle Memorial Institute in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking a highly motivated Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to support U.S. Special Operations Command within the POTFF program.

The role encompasses diagnosis, treatment, and counseling across the full NP scope, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a mission-driven environment. The position emphasizes preventive care, education, and ongoing quality improvement, with an emphasis on evidence-based practices and staff

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing accredited by ACEN/CCNE
• Certified as a Psychiatric-Nurse Practitioner by ANCC/AANP or equivalent
• Meet clinical competency requirements in credentialing instructions
• Maintain credentialing in good standing at a local MTF
• Current, full, active RN license in a U.S. state/territory
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of outcome-based NP services as privileges allow
• Direct and teach other staff; provide educational lectures
• Diagnose and treat acute/chronic conditions per protocols
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient/family education
• Recognize isolation needs and ensure universal precautions
• Attend staff meetings for case discussions and quality improvement
