Job summary

Battelle Memorial Institute is seeking a Psychological/Mental Health Technician to support the POTFF program for U.S. Special Operations Command.

The role involves intake interviews, assisting with patient care, and leading therapeutic sessions under licensed supervision, contributing to data collection and reporting in a mission-driven environment. Qualifications

• Associate degree or commensurate level of training as a mental health technician.
• At least three years’ experience as a psychiatric technician.
• Knowledge of psychology and/or social work fundamentals.
• Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and manage agitated or potentially violent individuals.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outpatient behavioral health activities under supervision of licensed staff.
• Conduct intakes and assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients.
• Lead prescribed individual or group therapy sessions under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Perform standard and nonstandard work assignments and resolve issues independently.
• Coordinate attendance and agendas for Case Review Committee with military and civilian agencies.
