Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide embedded behavioral health services for military personnel and families, focusing on readiness, resilience, and recovery.

The PMHNP will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose and treat conditions, offer counseling, and collaborate with leadership on psychological trends affecting operations and well-being.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in nursing from ACEN/CCNE accredited program.
Current, active and unrestricted RN license in US.
Board certification as PMHNP by ANCC or AANP.
Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in independent clinical psychiatric nursing.
2 years of DoW/VA setting experience is preferred.
Understanding military culture and operator community stressors.

Responsibilities

Provide a full range of outcome-based PMHNP services per privileges granted by the MTF, including screening, examinations, immunizations, diagnosis and treatment.
Direct and educate staff; deliver evidence-based lectures and in-service trainings.
Diagnose and treat common acute/chronic psychiatric conditions following guidelines and in consultation with physicians.
Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.
Collaborate across disciplines; inform leadership on trends impacting readiness and well-being.
Maintain documentation in enterprise systems per program standards; participate in CQI activities.
