Battelle Memorial Institute seeks a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to support the POTFF program for U.S. Special Operations Command.

The role focuses on preventive care, research and analytics, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a mission-driven environment. The position offers a full range of NP services, ongoing education, and opportunities to impact SOF personnel and their families through evidence-based care and safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program.
• Psychiatric-Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC/AANP or equivalent.
• Clinical competency per service-specific credentialing instructions.
• Credentialing maintained in good standing at the local medical treatment facility (MTF).
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state/territory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification from AHA.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services per privileges, including screening, care, exams, and counseling.
• Direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and in-service training.
• Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic conditions per protocols and guidelines.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance through patient education.
• Communicate with diverse teams to inform plans and educate patients and families.
• Recognize isolation risks and ensure universal precautions in patient care.
• Attend staff meetings for case discussions, continuing education, and QA/safety initiatives.

Education

Master’s degree in nursing accredited by the ACEN or CCNE

Certified as a Psychiatric-Nurse Practitioner by ANCC/AANP or equivalent

Meet clinical competency requirements per service-specific credentialing

Maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at a local MTF

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registered nurse license in a U.S. state or territory

Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
