Job summary

Phoenix Houses of California in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the PM shift (Thu-Mon, 2:30pm-11:00pm). You will supervise patients in a safe, therapeutic setting and help deliver program services while following policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include documenting in electronic health records, coordinating with clinical, medical, culinary, and admin teams, transporting patients for off-site activities, and participating in trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; DHCS registered Alcohol and Drug Counselor for RSS 1 or a DHCS-certified counselor for RSS II.
• Preferred six months experience in related field.
• Valid California driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and clean driving record as per Phoenix House policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient supervision in a safe, therapeutic setting.
• Promote appropriate treatment models and conduct interventions.
• Document patient information and behaviors; coordinate with clinical, medical, culinary, and administrative teams.
• Ensure adherence to the daily program schedule.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EHRs and logs in a timely manner.
• Supervise transportation of patients to off-site appointments or activities.
• Perform patient checks, counts, and routine facility checks for safety and security.
• Conduct urine testing; attend staff trainings and meetings.
