Job summary

Cantata Adult Life Services in Brookfield, IL is seeking a Part Time RA/CNA to provide compassionate, non-medical support to residents, following service plans and facility policies. Shift is 2pm-10:30pm with a structured schedule (Week 1: Sun, Tue, Wed, Fri; Week 2: Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat).

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, housekeeping, meal support, keeping logs, and contributing to a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior care giving experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people.
• Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally.
• Aptitude for detail work as well as understand and meet job responsibility time frames.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assists new residents in orientation to their apartments and common areas of the Woodlands.
• Provides support and encouragement to AL residents to remain independent.
• Assist with ADLs when needed by residents as determined by service package.
• Assist with wheelchair transportation of residents on campus.
• Assist in activities and supervise shelter assignments on campus.
• Provide medication reminders to residents as required.
• Communicate resident information to AL Manager, Wellness Nurse or Lead Resident Assistant and other staff.
• Assist in the AL dining room with food setup items, menu selection, and tray delivery.
• Maintain daily log of services provided and keep records.
• Respond flexibly to changing situations and maintain positive relationships.
• Follow work assignments and schedules, complete tasks timely.
• Attend in-services and trainings as per Cantata policies.
