Job summary

Major Food Group is hiring experienced PM Line Cooks to join our team at THE GRILL in New York, NY. The role involves station setup, food preparation and ensuring high-quality, timely service.

Responsibilities include cooking with the kitchen team, following executive or sous chef instructions, and maintaining cleanliness and inventory. Requires 2+ years in high-volume or fine dining, a culinary diploma preferred, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
• Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
• Team-orientated and positive attitude
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Strong communication skills a must

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
