Job summary

University of Texas at Austin invites applications for Project Manager - Applied Research at the Pickle Research Campus. You will guide government-sponsored R&D programs, providing programmatic and technical guidance to agile teams, PIs, and system owners.

Responsibilities include sponsor liaison, budget/proposal preparation, and ensuring timely execution while supervising staff and coordinating with stakeholders. Requires security-conscious, detail-oriented teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics, or related fields.
• Five or more years project management experience with government-sponsored technical/scientific R&D or system acquisitions.
• PM certification (PMP, DAU PM, or DoD branch cert) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Government sponsors and PIs to ensure sponsor satisfaction of technical and business execution.
• Prepare budget and technical proposals for new Government-sponsored R&D.
• Establish and maintain project goals and priorities per PI guidance for mission success.
• Provide staff supervision and tasking, identify training needs, support hiring.
• Manage project budget, schedule, and resources for timely execution.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
