Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories is seeking a security professional to manage classifed information handling, investigations, and access control at the Pickle Research Campus. The role requires NSA/NISPOM-aligned oversight and coordination with government sponsors, with ongoing training and active participation in security programs.

You will handle clearances, travel reviews, and incident reporting, while ensuring adherence to federal requirements and university

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Seven years of related experience including two years with security policies per NISPOM.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Must be able to manage sensitive information and meet deadlines.
• US citizen with eligibility for security clearance.
• Complete CDSE FSO Program Management course and training for DISS access.
• Regular/punctual attendance.
• Experience with government security programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security clearances through reinvestigations; assist with electronic fingerprints.
• Assist in contract closeout and tracking Security Specification Documents for government sponsors.
• Ensure compliance with 32 CFR Part 117; manage disposition of classified material.
• Maintain security databases, files, badges; provide debriefings or exit reviews.
• Manage combos and records for safes, access rooms and secured areas.
• Process foreign and official travel requests; review visits to ARL.
• Coordinate classified meetings; verify attendance and check-in visitors.
• File or report adverse or self-reports in security folders or systems.
• Provide initial security briefings and badge administration for new/separated staff.
• Maintain mail/records; prepare classified mailings and destruction documentation.
• Track, inventory, and store classified materials; prepare for media transfers.
• Provide courier training and issue credentials for lab staff as needed.
• Other related functions as assigned.
