Job summary

Tatte Bakery & Café is seeking a Bakery Production Team Member for our Boston bakery. You will create pastries, breads, and desserts from scratch, selecting ingredients and following recipes in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

THE ROLE

As a Bakery Production Team Member, you will help create our unique pastries, cakes, pies, breads, and treats from scratch using high-quality ingredients. You will identify and select ingredients, prepare, form, and bake items within our pastry, bread, or Viennoiserie departments.

Our bakery production team members thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and product quality. Most importantly, they take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a collaborative team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and select ingredients to follow recipes.

Scale recipes to match production needs.

Sheet, shape, and prepare doughs in a modern manufacturing environment.

Build composed desserts.

Prepare housemade jams, fillings, mousses, and other pastry components.

Top, finish, and decorate desserts.

Adhere to cleanliness and sanitation standards, including FDA guidelines.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

Prior experience working in a high-volume bakery production, banquet production kitchen, restaurant kitchen, or similar environment.

Desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.

Passion for baking and cooking with a keen eye for freshness, quality, and cleanliness.

An appetite for learning new skills and techniques.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Pride in producing high-quality products.

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including at least one weekend shift each weekend.

Preferred

- Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to safely perform essential job functions in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, including productivity expectations.

Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, manipulate, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
