Job summary

iENG Design is seeking a VDC Specialist focused on mechanical plumbing in Granite City, IL. You will generate detailed spool drawings and hanger maps, model plumbing systems from P&IDs, and support project teams throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires 1–3 years in plumbing design or VDC, familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD, and willingness to travel as needed. You will work in a deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience in CAD drafting, engineering, construction management, or similar field.
• 1–3 years in plumbing design, VDC, or related field.
• Knowledge of IPC, UPC, or other plumbing codes.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner.
• Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis for project needs and team collaboration.
• Ability to work under deadlines with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to integrate plumbing systems within the building model.
• Design and model plumbing systems based on P&IDs, design drawings, or engineering markups.
• Provide technical support by troubleshooting VDC issues and assisting with model revisions.
• Develop hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.
• Support the field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.
• Review and ensure accuracy of modeling and design work per codes and standards.
