Job summary

Miles Plumbing & Heating is seeking a Michigan-licensed Journeyman Plumber for residential and light commercial service work in Dimondale, MI. You will own jobs from dispatch to payment, diagnose issues, and present options to homeowners and clients.

You will work with homeowners, support commercial work as needed, and use ServiceTitan to track jobs, estimates, and invoicing. A strong, customer-focused communicator with a clean driving record is preferred.

Qualifications

• Michigan Journeyman Plumber license required.
• Experience in service, repair, maintenance, and installation, especially residential.
• Strong diagnostic skills across plumbing systems.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose plumbing issues and perform code-compliant repairs, maintenance and installations in residential and light commercial settings.
• Service fixtures, piping, drains, water heaters, pumps, valves, and hydronic components to a high standard.
• Present repair and replacement options, prepare estimates, obtain customer approval, and explain charges.
• Own each job from dispatch to completion, with troubleshooting, quality checks, cleanup, documentation, and payment collection when required.
• Use ServiceTitan to manage job status, time, notes, estimates, invoices, recommendations, and follow-ups.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Michigan-licensed Journeyman Plumber based out of Dimondale, MI, who wants more than just another truck, just another route. In this role, you will own jobs from dispatch to payment, work directly with homeowners and light commercial clients, and help shape how our service operation grows.

What You'll Do

• Independently diagnose plumbing issues and perform safe, code-compliant repair, maintenance, and installation work in residential and light commercial settings.
• Service fixtures, piping, drains, water heaters, pumps, valves, hydronic components, and related plumbing systems to a high standard of quality.
• Present clear repair and replacement options, prepare accurate estimates, obtain customer approval, and ensure customers understand the work and charges.
• Own each assigned job from dispatch through completion, including troubleshooting, quality checks, cleanup, documentation, and payment collection when required.
• Use ServiceTitan to manage job status, time, notes, photos, estimates, invoices, recommendations, and follow-up visits so the office and customer always know where things stand.

What Success Looks Like

• Within 90 days, you are handling a full daily schedule of service calls independently, meeting quality standards, and generating positive feedback from customers.
• You consistently diagnose problems accurately the first time and complete work with minimal callbacks and rework.
• Job documentation in ServiceTitan is thorough, accurate, and timely, enabling smooth scheduling, billing, and follow-up.
• You are recognized by leaders and peers as someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly with dispatch and customers, and helps apprentices work safely and productively.

What We're Looking For

• Current Michigan Journeyman Plumber license with proven experience in service, repair, maintenance, and installation, especially in residential plumbing.
• Strong diagnostic skills across plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, drainage, water heaters, and related components, with the judgment to work independently in the field.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills, including the ability to explain recommendations, estimates, and repair-versus-replacement options.
• Comfort using mobile technology; experience with ServiceTitan or similar field-service software is a plus, along with a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to safely lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
